Carter Middle School Specialized School Programs |

In addition to the regular fifth through eighth grade program and our special education program, Carter Middle School provides for specialized student needs. The Trainable Mentally Impaired (TMI) classroom, serving students from several districts as an out- center program of the Genesee Intermediate School District, allows an educational alternative and opportunity for students.
The Title I/At-Risk program services students in danger or at risk for failure. Students are selected to receive intensive small group instruction for one marking period based on their MEAP scores. These students also benefit from the "Sunrise" and the "Connection" after school homework completion pro- gram. The report card grades, attendance patterns and standardized test scores of these students are monitored for improvement.
The services provided by the Title 1, At Risk, and district programs are coordinated to maximize services and reduce duplication. Parents are invited to participate by attending parent in-service programs, through parent conferences and by participating in a program survey.
