Carter Middle School

Accreditation

Carter Middle School was awarded  accreditation from the North Central Association in the spring of 1998.  North Central is a regional accrediting association that monitors schools across the nation.  Schools earn and maintain accreditation  by meeting or exceeding a set of standards that are prescribed for the middle school level and by committing to a plan of continuous effort that concentrates on improvement of student performance.

The State of Michigan awards accreditation status on three levels based on a school's MEAP scores.  Summary accredited schools meet all the standards established for accreditation.  Interim schools do not meet all the standards for summary accreditation but are making progress toward meeting those standards.  Unaccredited schools do not meet all the standards for summary accreditation and are not making progress toward meeting those standards.  Carter Middle School has been awarded Interim Accreditation from the State of Michigan.
