Who may register?

Students who meet the follow requirements:

1. Must be at least 14 years 8 months by June 4^th.

2. Must have passed 4 of 6 classes the previous semester, and presently be passing all classes, as verified by your end of the year report card.

3. Owe no debts to Clio Schools

What is the cost of the class?

1. The cost of the class includes payment for both segment I and segment II

2. If you live in the Clio school district the cost is $150.00.

3. If you live outside the Clio school district the cost is $200.00.

4. Payment is expected at the time of registration.

CERTIFICATE OF LIVE BIRTH

At the time of registration all students are expected to present a copy of a certificate of live birth, which we may keep and will be acceptable by the Secretary of States office.

How does the driver education program works?

Each student will be assigned a class, road, and range time.

1. Class 7:00 a.m. 9:00 a.m. Range/Road 9:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m.

2. Class 9:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. Range/Road 7:00 a.m. 9:00 a.m.

3. Class 11.00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. Range/Road 1:00 p.m 3:00 p.m.

4. Class 1:00 p.m 3:00 p.m. Range/Road 11:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m.

(Example: If the student is scheduled for a 7:00 a.m. class then their range or road times will be 9:00 a.m.).

What student is allowed to choose their class time first?

Each student will be given an opportunity to choose his or her individual class time. The order of choice will be based on the following.

1. All Clio students will be seated first.

2. All students will be given a choice based on their birth date. The oldest students will go first.

How many students do we have room for in the drivers education class?

In the one session of our summer drivers education program we have room for 144 students.

What do we do if we have more than 144 students who want to register for the class?

We can only register 144 students’. All Clio students will be seated first

What is the main reason students don’t receive their certificate of completion in Drivers Education from Clio High School?

Attendance: if a student will miss more than two classes, ranges or roads please don’t register them. It is too difficult for them to complete the program on time.

Can I register my son/daughter early for the Driver Education class?

NO.

Can I register my son/daughter late for the Driver Education class?

Yes. If we have room in the program?

PARENT PERMISSION SLIP- I give my permission for my Son/Daughter to participate in the Clio Area Schools drivers education program.

I accept that my son/daughter will be held responsible to the schools code of conduct. A copy of which will be available on request. I understand that my son/daughter will receive a certificate of completion of driver’s education after they have completed the following requirements.

1. Attended 24 hours of class.

2. Have driven on road and range a combined total of at least 6 hours and been sign-off by the range and road instructors.

3. Score a minimum of 80% on the state test.

4. Made payment of $150.00 to Clio Area School if living in the Clio area school district.

5. Made payment of $200.00 to Clio Area Schools if living outside the Clio area school district.

6. Owe no debts to Clio Area Schools
